FOUND A LOST PET?
Where Did You Find Them?
Under Wisconsin law (Wis. State Statute 173.13(9)c), stray animals must be taken to the facility contracted by the municipality where the animal was found so owners have the opportunity to reclaim their pets. Taking an animal outside of its found area violates the law and can prevent reunification.
EBHS requires a valid ID when bringing a found animal to our shelter.
Elmbrook Humane Society houses stray and lost animals for the following Waukesha County municipalities:
- City and Town of Brookfield
- Village of Elm Grove
- Village of Nashotah
- Village of Chenequa.
If the animal was found outside our service area, please contact the appropriate local humane society or police department.
